🎣 ICE FISHING 🎣

Writer's picture: Justin BurkeJustin Burke

One of my favorite things to do in winter is ice fishing. Most people are scared of the ice but not me. I used to associate drinking and smoking weed with fishing. That caused me not to want to do it. Thinking I wouldn't have fun doing it. For the first time in five years, I want to go. My friend has all the gear to go. So I can use an excuse to get out of it. If I live in fear I will never do anything. I choose today not to live in fear and face these things head-on. I hope to overcome the fear of past associations. I enjoy fishing so much. I hope to hook into a monster and get that rush again.

That was the biggest walleye I had ever caught in my life. Pulling that string up through the ice was so exhilarating. That fight that fish put up was next level. It took me about 15 minutes. When I reached my hand into the ice-cold water to land the fish I screamed like a little girl I was so excited. I hope to find that feeling again this weekend.
