Little Moments

Writer's picture: Justin BurkeJustin Burke

My buddy and I took my daughter out fishing this weekend. Woke up at 5:30 am to go fishing. We ate breakfast and then headed out the door. We arrived at my buddy's house and got the boat ready to go. We stop by the store for some drinks and worms. We get to the lake and it was just a slow bite all morning. But my daughter just played with the worms and was like this one is next to catch a fish. We laughed and had a great time just as were about to leave she hooks like a four-pound large-mouth bass. The smile on her face as she was fighting it brought me joy. All the little things that day brought me joy in my life. It also reminds me why I stay on this road called recovery. Cause are worst days are still better than a good day of using.
