One Time At Band Camp

To be honest, I never went to band camp. I never attended any kind of camp. I always wanted to go to one. I heard people say they always had fun. I'm not saying my life was boring; I did a lot of enjoyable family camping while growing up.

Sometimes, I wonder what life would have been like if I had joined band. My best friend was one of those band geeks, always sharing crazy stories about what happened in band class. Looking back, I wish I had done something fun in school besides being a jock. During my last two years, I even quit playing sports because my addiction started to take effect.

All I cared about was where the party was. I was drinking and smoking all the time, and skipping class became normal for me. Looking back, I wonder how I ever graduated. Life was just one big party, and I missed out on so much just trying to be one of the cool kids.
